The Summer Solstice is here. The longest day of the year marks the sun's highest point in the sky.
Also known as Litha or midsummer, the summer solstice is a time to celebrate the Goddess heavy with child, who is also the God, whom she will birth at Yule. It is a time when the Oak King is overcome by the Holly King and the days following become shorter as the year wanes.
This is a time to celebrate the bounty of abundance that surrounds us with flowers, fresh fruits, and bonfires. This is a wonderful day to make a gratitude list and to celebrate the accomplishments of the year. It is a time to let the concerns and worries of everyday life fall away as we enjoy the festivities of this magickal day.
Happy Solstice!
