Grounding and Centering


One of the most important things we should do for ourselves when working with energy is grounding and centering. One way to tell if you are not grounded or centered is if you feel an abundance of nervous energy and can't seem to focus on one task. This is a good sign that you need to do a grounding and centering meditation.
A common technique is to get yourself in a comfortable meditative pose, focus on your breathing for a few minutes, and then imagine yourself with a beautiful straight tree growing up through your spine. See the trunk branching all the way up through your head into wonderful green leaved branches. Imagine the tree growing deep into the earth and imagine the soil as rich with nutrients that are cleansing your energy system of toxic debris. It is also helpful at this time to imagine your chakras as being full of color and in perfect alignment.
A grounding and centering exercise is helpful to do for a few minutes everyday. You will find yourself refreshed and energized and anything you put your energy into will bene
fit.
